Week six at Camp J was full of movement, music, milestones, and meaningful moments as both ECD and Upper Camp dove into new adventures and unforgettable experiences.

In ECD, the week began with laughter and bubbles at our Foam Party, where campers splashed, giggled, and played their hearts out. On Wednesday, the Torathon puppet show brought big laughs and clever fun, keeping everyone wide-eyed and entertained. Zumba and Music & Movement kept the energy going strong, with campers dancing and moving to joyful rhythms all week long. We wrapped it all up with our favorite tradition, Friday Shabbat, a peaceful and heartwarming way to end a week of learning, play, and connection.

Upper Camp had plenty to celebrate too, starting with the long-awaited opening of the swimming pool. Our oldest campers finally made their splash, filling the air with laughter, handstands, and games of Marco Polo. The week continued with incredible field trips. Rishonim and Sports Camp cheered on the Marlins, Kadima and Sabra soared at Sky Zone, and Habimah took the stage for Plug In Karaoke. Tsofim campers made us proud by delivering Maccabia items to the Kosher Food Bank as part of their ongoing community mitzvah project.

We also celebrated Israel, with campers exploring Israeli culture through hands-on activities and immersive experiences. From mosaics and lava lamps to chocolate balls made from scratch, campers discovered the beauty and spirit of Israel through art, science, and food. On Friday, the entire camp “traveled” to Israel with a full day of cultural exploration. Campers visited the Western Wall, tackled an IDF obstacle course, experimented with Dead Sea salt, practiced Krav Maga, and danced together in Rikkudim (Israeli dance).

As auditions kicked off for next week’s much-anticipated Talent Show, the excitement continues to grow. We are especially looking forward to welcoming our visiting Schlichim from our sister city Yerucham, who will bring new energy and specialty Hobby Hours like 3D printing, Robotics, and Drones for our oldest campers.
