The Alper J Swim School offers water safety, drowning prevention, and learn-to-swim classes for the youngest members of Alper J Swim Club. We offer "Parent & Baby" classes for infants 0-2 years old, groups for 3 & 4 year olds, 5 & 6 year olds, and 7-10 year olds. We provide these classes on a monthly basis. Classes will be attended once per week or twice per week.
0-2 yrs old: Parent & Baby
This is your baby’s introduction to water safety skills and drowning prevention. Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it. These classes have a maximum of 10:1 Parent & Baby to-teacher ratio. Our focus is on having fun, getting comfortable in the water, bonding with parents, and singing songs. This curriculum will lay the foundation for basic swim skills including kicking, pulling, underwater dips, wall holds, breath control, rollovers, and backfloats.
Saturday & Sunday: 11:00am – 11:40am
Max. 10 students
3-4 yrs old: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills
Children will learn basic swimming skills. These classes have a maximum of 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
Our focus is on unassisted flutter kicking, underwater dips, unassisted gliding, back floats, front floats, unassisted proper pulling, rollover breathing, rollover safety skills and water safety skills (like getting in and out of the water safely).
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 3:20 pm - 4:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 11:40 am - 12:20 pm
Max. 5 students
5-6 yrs old: Stroke Development
Additional guided practice will help students improve their swimming skills. Your athlete will learn to swim all four strokes legally, streamline with an underwater dolphin kick, and perform flipturns. This class has a maximum of 7:1 athlete-to-teacher ratio.
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 4:00 pm - 4:40pm
Saturday & Sunday: 12:20 pm – 1:00 pm

7-10 yrs old: Stroke Improvement & Concepts of Training
Athletes in this class will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke technique (through drills and short/purposeful repetition), learn how to read a pace clock, and gain additional training skills for competitive swimmers. This class has a maximum of 9:1 athlete-to-teacher ratio.
Monday - Friday: 4:40 pm - 5:20 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 1:00 pm - 1:40 pm

Private swim lessons are available for ALL ages and abilities. This includes: Fear of water, drowning prevention, novice level swimmers, recreational swimmers, adult learn-to-swim, and in-depth/technical training for competitive athletes/triathletes. We are here to make you feel at home. Our private lessons are held in a one-on-one format specifically catered to your current skill level and desired goals.
