Fitness Desk/Weight Room Team Member

Seeking customer service team member with strong interpersonal skills to represent our Alper JCC brand alternately at our Fitness Center front desk and weight room. As a front desk representative, you will be a first line of contact to welcome, greet, establish and maintain positive relationships with members. Your duties as a weight room customer service attendant will parallel those at the front desk as well as include assisting members with fitness related questions.

Key responsibilities at front desk

  • Deliver first class customer service at all times
  • Welcome, greet, establish and maintain positive relationships with members
  • Membership sales
  • Maintain a professionally presentable persona at all times
  • Ensure a clean and welcoming atmosphere at all times
  • Assist and check in members
  • Be knowledgeable and prepared to answer center wide questions
  • Charge and schedule members for services and products
  • Clerical tasks
  • Guide customers with regards to the latest center promotions, membership discounts and/or special events
  • Have flexibility with schedule, having the ability to work weekends, holidays, morning or night shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Key responsibilities in weight room

  • Deliver first class customer service at all times
  • Greet and speak to all members within speaking distance
  • Promote fitness center services
  • Call members to initiate orientation participation
  • Maintain a professionally presentable persona at all times
  • Ensure a clean and welcoming atmosphere at all times -includes routine cleaning of the gym equipment and work out areas
  • Assist members in the gym with any questions and provide assistance with the fitness equipment
  • Maintain strong communication across all lines
  • Have flexibility with schedule, having the ability to work weekends, holidays, morning or night shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate across all levels
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and work within a fast-paced environment
  • Work cohesively with all team members
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior
  • Customer service and/or sales experience
  • Club industry experience and/or passion for fitness and/or bilingual preferable
  • Ability to demonstrate positive attitude and encourage a fun work environment

Fitness Specialists (Personal Trainers)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Presenting strong customer service
  • Speaking to and greeting all members within speaking distance
  • Assisting members in the gym with any questions and assistance with equipment
  • Building your training business which includes outreaching, cold-calling, following up and setting members up with their initial sessions
  • Having a keen sense in corrective technique for any members doing an exercise wrong or needing assistance on a machine
  • Maintain a strong communication, whether verbal, written or telecommunicated, with fellow JCC employees when needed
  • Carrying a positive attitude and encouraging a fun work-environment


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the following experience, education and skills:

Current National Personal Training certification from an accredited organization

  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Reliability and availability a must
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, energetic and personable
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills
  • Hardworking, honest and possession of personal integrity

NOT A REQUIREMENT, BUT HELPFUL:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Additional training certifications and specialties
